Meditation can allow for a person to connect with their higher consciousness and open the door to creativity and spirit communication.

Meditation is a way to completely relax and clear the mind. By clearing the mind from everyday distractions, it allows for more creativity. In addition, it can open the door for communication with spirits on the other side.

What is Automatic Writing?

Automatic writing is a procedure in which an individual is able to tap into the subconscious mind or even into their higher consciousness in order to receive information.

While meditating, the person holds a pencil or pen in the hand and allows whatever comes through to flow freely on a piece of paper.

How to do Automatic Writing

Begin an automatic writing session by dressing in comfortable clothing. The idea is to as comfortable as possible in order to create an atmosphere of relaxation. Turn down the light, light a candle or some incense or do whatever it takes to make the room as comfortable as possible.

Begin the automatic writing session with few good stretches to the body. Next, sit down with a piece of paper and writing instrument next to the hand you normally write with. Be sure to keep a good posture. Close your eyes and begin breathing deeply. If any thoughts invade the mind, toss them out and continue to focusing on breathing. You will begin to feel the stress leaving your body and you'll become more and more relaxed.

Once feeling relaxed, pick up the pen or pencil and hold in on the piece of paper. Don't concentrate on it. Keep the mind clear and allow the hand to move freely. Allow the hand to keep writing until it feels like stopping. Before ending the meditation, take a few moments to relax, then open your eyes when ready.

Information Through Automatic Writing

Now that the meditation is over, it's time to look to see what was written. It might be just a bunch of lines or shapes. It also could be words or phrases. Remember, when doing automatic writing, spelling and punctuation don't really matter.

Sometimes, writers are able to get ideas when practicing automatic writing. Many mediums use automatic writing to allegedly communicate with deceased souls and there are times when whatever is written, isn't penned in the medium's writing.

As time goes on and you become better at automatic writing, feel free to mentally ask questions and see what kind of response is received. Some people find this to be a very useful tool when they need advice in their life.

Automatic writing is something that takes time and practice. Meditation is a great tool for allowing an individual to get in a relaxed enough state to attempt automatic writing. Some find it beneficial to take some time everyday (at the same time) to practice meditation and automatic writing.
