Connect with your spiritual side and become more aware and focused with a morning meditation.
Most people follow a daily routine. Taking a few quick minutes for a morning meditation should be an easy addition to that routine, particularly for those who reap great benefits from a morning meditation. It can help a person to be more alert throughout the day by allowing for a little quiet time before the chaos of the day begins. How To Begin A Morning MeditationStart by giving the body a good stretch. Stretch those toes, roll that neck and crinkle up the face. Try to stretch every part of the body. Next, after the eyes are closed, begin to take long, deep, relaxing breaths. While doing this, pay attention to any and all sounds that can be heard. Perhaps the cat is scratching on a post or the sound of traffic outside can be heard outside. Once a sound is heard, acknowledge it before moving on to the next sound. Do the same with any aromas that you notice. This is an exercise that will make a person more alert and aware of his or her surroundings. Morning Prayer And MeditationTake a moment for a morning prayer. This doesn't need to be a traditional prayer. It can simply be a good morning to whomever you consider your higher power to be or a way to say "thank you" for a wonderful new day. Thoughts of thanks and appreciation for the good things in one's life can also be a good alternative to traditional prayer. If traditional prayer is preferred, this is the time to offer one up. You can also say a prayer for anyone else you feel needs one. Some people use this time to connect with their angels and spirit guides. When ready to end this part of the meditation, ask the entity to surround you with his/her/their bright light while envisioning a warm, bright golden light coming down from the sky and surrounding your body. Asking a Question With MeditationFinally, take a quiet moment and see if any thoughts come to your mind about the day. Perhaps you will remember something you would have otherwise forgotten about. Or, take the time to ask a question, then see if any answers come into your mind. When you're ready, open your eyes and begin your day. Morning meditation only takes a few minutes, although it can be longer, if desired. It's a great way to start off the day feeling refreshed and relaxed, while sharpening up your senses and taking a few moments to connect with the divine.
