Tantra yoga is a spiritual path of love that requires years of commitment, surrender, and practice for the attainment of long lasting peace, love, happiness and health.

Unfortunately, tantra has often denigrated to exotic sex positions and porn, where self proclaimed "tantrics" casually and conveniently use the term "tantra" to validate their sexual dysfunctions, giving themselves "permission" to participate in group sex, swapping partners and other such activities.

But, in truth, tantra about sexual energy; it is a process that succeeds only for those who have outgrown their adolescent fascination for sex and are seeking higher states of consciousness. Today, most of what has been represented as "tantra" has no foundational basis and can only be described as anti-tantra. This pseudo tantra ignores most of the warnings and teachings of the enlightened Masters. This unwillingness for the preparatory work necessary can lead to unnecessary emotional and physical pain.

Pseudo Tantra Serves to:

  • engage the ego
  • bypass any spiritual disposition
  • advocate pedestrian sex
  • ignore meditation practice
  • continue the drama
  • create more karma
  • use the partner as an object of pleasure

By Comparison, Tantra Yoga Aims to:

  • surrender the ego
  • purify the body
  • expand the mind
  • control the emotions
  • maintain balance
  • honor the partner
  • recognize the divinity within
  • embrace the inner animal
  • improve relationships
  • create enduring peace and harmony
  • live in the present
  • become more authentic
  • build confidence
  • maintain a positive outlook
  • achieve blissful union through sacred sex

How does one begin a spiritual path such as tantra? Decide to!

As mentioned before, tantra yoga is a process that will yield positive results when applied properly. All of your efforts will result in changes you and others will notice in as little as 30 days. But that is only the beginning. Make this your passion. If you want to see changes in your life, you have to do the work. No one else can do it for you.

Here's a Tantra Meditation Practice You Can Do Every Day:

  • Sit on a chair with your spine straight, palms down with the thumbs and forefingers touching, feet flat on the floor. If you prefer, you can sit on the floor with your legs crossed and hands resting on your knees.
  • With closed eyes, bring your focus to the area between the brows, known as the third eye.
  • Concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in light, breathe out and negative thoughts or feelings.

Do this tantra meditation for at least five minutes a day. After a few days you may want to increase the time until gradually you are able to sit for twenty minutes or more without any discomfort. If your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to the breath. If you do this practice faithfully you will notice improvements in all areas of your life. If you don't see or feel or changes, then this path is probably not for you, but give it a try.

Tantra meditation is the precursor to sacred sex. It is the first and the last step.
